- Position Title: Paralegal
- Reports To: Jacqueline Lentini
- Work Hours: Full-time, Hybrid
- Work Days: Monday-Friday during business hours
- Purpose of Position
- To support attorney in all areas of a busy legal practice including, but not limited to: immigration case work, administrative and legal assistant work (see below for further detailed information).
- Responsibilities
- Assist attorney in preparation of immigrant and nonimmigrant visa petitions;
- Draft, review, and prepare legal documents for visa types such as E-1, E-2, E-3, H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, I-140, PERM Labor Certification (ETA-9089), AOS (Adjustment of Status), N-400 Naturalization filings, and family-based Adjustment of Status filings;
- Manage a caseload of visa matters utilizing case management software;
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding procedural and case processing issues;
- Analyze case documents and prepare immigration applications for filing and RFE Responses;
- Draft petitions, applications, and specialized support letters detailing eligibility for visa classification;
- Learn procedural and processing requirements for various types of visa petitions;
- Conduct legal research on immigration regulations and procedures;
- Review and approve client billing under supervision of partner or attorney;
- Work closely in team environment, while building knowledge of firm and client processes; and
- Contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the firm’s workflow.
- Requirements
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent);
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a professional immigration environment;
- Demonstrated client service focus; and
- Excellent oral, writing, research, organizational, and proofreading skills.
